Definitely recommended, as the PCB of Pi and the printer can touch and cause damage. Also, please note we have moved to the help.prusa3d.com
Hi Everett,
this site is no longer maintained and this manual is for the MK3. If you have an MK3S+ and you are upgrading to MMU2S, please follow the manual at our new site: https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/2a-mk3...
Can I also ask, how did you manage to get here?
Hi Marlene,
we are shipping the shields in parts, like in step 2. Everything is packed in sealable bags.
Great effort wi the MJF, do you have any specific settings for the print, that can be shared? We are sharing tweaked G-codes for several printers and might add yours if you are ok with it, so the others with similar printers can start printing immediately. Let me know at jakub.dolezalATprusa3d.cz
Hi Paul,
yes, you need to put the A4 in landscape orientation, take a look at this manual:
https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/assemb...
or if you want, you can download the step (.stp) file from PrusaPrinters and adjust the position of the pins:
https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/258...
Hi Thierry, try to look for “Buttonhole Elastic Band” or “Elastic Band” in your local shops, or Amazon/eBay.
Hi Dave, our spacing between center and side pins is 80 mm to our double puncher. However, we have uploaded the step files on PrusaPrinters, so you can adjust the design any way you want :) https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/258...
Hi Derek, all the design files are here at PrusaPrinters https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/258...
Hi Kevin, thanks for the suggestion, I will discuss it with our devs ;)
Hi Jessi,
you can use similar high temp materials to PETG, for example, the ABS/nGEN, but you might have to adjust the model because of the thermal shrinkage during the print. You can also discuss the material in the comment section on PrusaPrinters: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/258...
Hi Max,
you can use anything, which will help you to create a physical barrier and has good visibility. We are using the PETG sheet from Covestro VIVAK and also tried laminating foil, more here: Assembling the Prusa Face Shield RC1/RC2/RC3 - community version
